Description

A delicious and creamy Shrimp Spaghetti recipe featuring tender shrimp, garlic, and spaghetti tossed in a flavorful Parmesan cream sauce. Perfect for a quick and elegant dinner!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz spaghetti pasta
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved (optional)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • ¾ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • ½ lemon, juiced

Instructions

A plated dish of shrimp spaghetti with fresh basil and Parmesan.

  • Cook the spaghetti: Boil in salted water according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • Cook the shrimp: In a skillet over medium heat, heat olive oil. Add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
  • Prepare the sauce: Melt butter in the same skillet, add garlic, and sauté for 1 minute. Add cherry tomatoes (if using) and cook for 2 minutes.
  • Make it creamy: Pour in heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring to combine. Bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in Parmesan cheese, salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes, and Italian seasoning until smooth.
  • Combine ingredients: Return the shrimp to the sauce, then add the cooked spaghetti. Toss everything together until well coated.
  • Final touch: Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the pasta, garnish with parsley, and serve hot.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, substitute heavy cream with half-and-half or Greek yogurt.
  • Add spinach or mushrooms for extra flavor and nutrients.
  • Use linguine or fettuccine instead of spaghetti if preferred.
  • For a spicy kick, increase the red pepper flakes.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat with a splash of broth or milk to maintain creaminess.
